St Lucas Preschool - About Us
Serving children and families in South St Louis County and areas surrounding St Louis, Missouri, USA

|
Our Philosophy Our Preschool serves the needs of 3, 4 and 5 year old children, preparing them for the Kindergarten experience, showing them that learning can be fun and demonstrating how we can work together in a group situation.
Young children must have first-hand experience in order to learn and grow. Our Preschool curriculum offers experiences in music, art, literature, natural and physical sciences and community life. This is done in an atmosphere of free expression. These concepts are blended into fun learning activities.
Under the patient guidance of the teacher, the Preschool child is helped to develop a positive self image, to be proud of his/her achievements and to be willing to accept new challenges with confidence. The child is encouraged to be aware of the relationship between freedom and responsibility, to be able to accept and observe the limits and boundaries of his freedom and develop an ability to respond to others in acceptable and positive ways.
The School Year
The preschool operates from September to the end of May. Letters are mailed to parents in August outlining details of the upcoming school year. Teachers make home visits in early September. School begins the week following Labor Day week and Parent Orientation. A summer Preschool Camp is offered for 3 weeks in July on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. We accept children ages 3-5. |
Inclement Weather Policy When Lindbergh School District calls off school because of inclement weather, we will also be off. Listen to your radio, watch TV stations or check our website for information. Any other cancellations (for field trips, etc) will be handled by our phone chain.
