St. Lucas Children's Ministries offers young people a firm foundation in the Bible and Christian values. We pride ourselves in our team of caring, dedicated, and well-trained church school teachers. Classes are available for young people from birth through high school.

St. Lucas United Church of Christ is a secure place where children can come to learn and develop the inner strength and spiritual resources they will need to feel truly connected to God. As part of our Keeping God's Children Safe Program at St. Lucas, a registration form is required for all students attending Church School.

Faith Footsteps Church School provides classes for children birth through fifth grade during both worship services.

Our Infants and Toddlers classes are designed for children birth through two years of age.  Children from newborn to about 18 months gather in our Crib Room.   When the children are walking securely and steady on their feet (usually about 18-20 months old), they transition to our toddler classroom.  They will remain in this class until they are ready to move to the preschool classroom.

Please feel free to take your child to the Crib Room or Toddler Room before service begins.  You will be asked to sign your child in and out of the classroom.  Please complete an information card so that we can provide the proper care to your child.  Also, you will be given a silent pager so that we may contact you if your child becomes ill or is unhappy for an extended period of time.

Children who are preschool through fifth grade attend the first part of the worship service.  Upon the completion of Children’s Time, they proceed to the Social Hall for sign in and then move to their assigned classroom. Parents should pick up their child in their assigned classroom after the worship service.

A special class is offered for preschool students. Classes for pre-kindergarten through fifth grade are based on the Workshop Rotation Model. The Workshop Rotation Model teaches major bible stories or concepts in-depth for a four or five week period through child friendly workshops. Each week, the classes "rotate" to a different workshop. Workshop lessons may include computers, art, cooking, drama, writing, science or video.
