Along with the commemorations on September 11, in the Sunday morning worship services
at St. Lucas UCC, the Adult Education committee invites you to these wider-church events:


 

St. Louis Interfaith 9/11 Memorial in Music
You are invited to join the Interfaith Partnership/Faith Beyond Walls and
many other religious communities Sunday evening for an evening healing
and religious musical expressions of various faith communities.
The program is designed to inspire and allow reflection,
express sorrow and regret, and unify the community in hope for peace.

One statement of the message of the event: although we cannot directly bring about world peace, we can do what we can, in our community, together and in public.

The program includes:
 First responders from the county police and city and county fire departments,
Presentation of the colors
 Senator John Danforth, Invocation
 Christine Brewer, Soloist, Opera Theater of St. Louis
 String Quartet, St. Louis Symphony
 Religious musical expressions of various faith communities


Sunday, September 11, 2011 5:30-6:30pm at the Sheldon Concert Hall 3648 Washington Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63108 The event is free and open to the public.

“Peace Be Upon You!” Banquet & Discussion on Sunday, September 11, First Congregational Church of Webster Groves UCC will host a multi-generational program titled Peace Be Upon You! – “an interface exploration of common purpose and collaboration designed
to move us from tolerance to empathy” from 4:00-7:30 p.m.
The church is located at 10 W. Lockwood Avenue, Webster Groves.
The keynote will be delivered by Khaled Abdul Hamid, a noted speaker and creator of the web log “Some Thoughts of an American Muslim on Politics, Religion, and Muslim Community Issues.” Workshops begin at 4:00 p.m., followed by a complimentary casual dinner at 6:00 p.m.
and the keynote address at 6:45 p.m.

Child care will be available throughout the event for attendees under 4 years old.
