Children's Education
The Children’s
Ministries committee has been hard at work setting up a Footstep Family
Corner in the elevator lobby on the lower level. Please visit this
welcoming area and see the activities for children and the parental
information available.
The children in
Faith Footsteps are in the middle of their first study for the new
Church School year:
Stewardship
based on Proverbs 30. Through computers, videos, cooking and “Paying it
Forward”, the children have had wonderful experiences learning the
meaning of the memory verse: “More blessings come from giving than from
receiving.” (Acts 20:35). One learning outcome we hope the children
will internalize is that even though they are “small” they can be an
active part of the stewardship ministry of St. Lucas.
The St. Lucas Prayer
Partner program will begin in January, 2009, and continue until
Celebration Sunday, 2009. Adults will be partnered with younger people
as they share daily prayer time, correspondence, special activities
designed for the partners and a meal on Celebration Sunday. Postage
paid postcards will be available for communication between the
partners. A sign up sheet for interested adults is located in the
Welcome Center. This program offers opportunities for both adults and
children to be supported in their faith journey. Any questions
regarding this new ministry
opportunity can be
directed to either Pastor Carol Keller or Michele Ottinger.
