A Thanksgiving Tradition - Collecting Food for Isaiah 58

Updated: 2 days ago

The holidays are right around the corner and we are once again collecting food for Isaiah 58 Ministires.

This year we are collecting Cream of Mushroom Soup for Isaiah 58's Thanksgiving store. Our goal is 400 cans of soup. Donations can be dropped off in the wagon in the North Narthex (near the main entrance) throughout the month of October.

Every year Isaiah 58 hosts a Thanksgiving store to help low-income individuals in our community enjoy a Thanksgiving meal. Rather than simply serving a meal or distributing ingredient packages, this model allows clients to 'shop' for their items at no cost. This is consistent with Isaiah 58's committment to client empowerment.

The need for services like this is on the rise, and Isaiah 58 anticipates serving over 300 families at both Thanksgiving and Christmas this year. In order to offer an abundance of items, churches throughout the area sign up to collect an ingredient to contribute to the store.

As we prepare to host and enjoy our own Thanksgiving meals we invite you to make the same possible for others. This is a great way to show gratitude for the gifts you have been given and pass them on to someone else. We hope you will participate.
