Being the Hands, Feet, and Wheels of Christ

At St. Lucas UCC our mission is to transform lives as the hands and feet of Christ, and recently we had the opportunity to expand that to the wheels of Christ.

On Sunday, April 6 we collected 15 bikes and 1 scooter to be donated to St. Louis BWorks. BWorks is a nonprofit organization committed to helping youth in our city discover their potential through experiential learning. Their charter program, Bicycle Works gives kids a chance to receive a free bike and learn about bike safety and maintenance.

In the years since they started in 1988, their programs have expanded to include St. Louis Byte Works. This program teaches kids computer skills and gives them the opportunity to earn a complete desktop computer system.

We are excited to continue supporting this important work, and hope to have more bicycle drives in the future. You can also drop off bikes at the Alpine Shop in Kirkwood. Thank you for your support of this effort and for continuing to support the many organizations doing good in our community.
